Ceramic Coating Care Instructions
Congratulations on choosing to protect your vehicle with a ceramic coating! Ceramic coatings provide long-lasting protection while helping your vehicle’s paint maintain a glossy, like-new appearance. To preserve the coating’s appearance, performance, and warranty coverage, please follow these care instructions.
- Do not wash the vehicle for at least 7 days after application. This allows the ceramic coating to fully cure and properly bond to the paint.
- When washing the vehicle, use a pH-neutral automotive soap and a clean microfiber wash mitt. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive brushes, sponges, or non-microfiber towels, as they may damage the coating or reduce its effectiveness.
- After washing, thoroughly dry the vehicle with a clean microfiber drying towel. Allowing water to air-dry may result in water spots or mineral deposits.
- Avoid washing the vehicle in direct sunlight or while the paint is hot. High temperatures can cause soap and water to dry too quickly, leaving streaks, spots, or residue behind.
- Avoid automatic car washes, especially those that use brushes. Brush-style car washes can scratch the paint and negatively affect the ceramic coating. Hand washing or professional detailing is strongly recommended.
- Remove bird droppings, bug splatter, tree sap, hard-water spots, and other contaminants as soon as possible. If left on the surface for an extended period, these contaminants may stain or etch the coating.
Recommended Maintenance Schedule
Monthly Maintenance Wash
- For best results, the vehicle should receive a maintenance wash approximately once per month. Regular washing helps prevent dirt, road film, and contaminants from building up while maintaining the coating’s gloss, slickness, and water-repelling properties.
4-6 Month Ceramic Maintenance Detail
- A professional ceramic coating maintenance detail is recommended every 4-6 months. This service includes a thorough wash, decontamination as needed, an inspection of the coating, and the application of a ceramic coating booster or maintenance product.
- The booster helps restore slickness, gloss, and water behavior between annual services. This service is intended to maintain and refresh the existing coating and does not replace the required annual ceramic topcoat service.
Required Annual Inspection and Ceramic Topcoat Service
- A professional inspection and ceramic topcoat application is required once every 12 months to maintain the ceramic coating warranty.
- During this service, the vehicle is thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated, the condition of the coating is inspected, and an additional ceramic topcoat is applied. Unlike the 6-month booster service, the annual service involves applying a true ceramic topcoat to reinforce the existing coating and maintain its protection, performance, and warranty eligibility.
Important Warranty and Care Information
- Ceramic coating provides durable chemical resistance, enhanced gloss, and easier maintenance, but it does not make the vehicle scratch-proof, chip-proof, stain-proof, or maintenance-free. Damage caused by improper washing, automatic car washes, abrasive polishing, accidents, road debris, neglect, environmental contamination, or the use of harsh chemicals is not considered coating failure.
- To maintain warranty eligibility, the required annual inspection service must be completed within 30 days before or after the anniversary of the original coating installation.
- Avoid applying traditional waxes, abrasive compounds, polishes, or unapproved chemical products over the coating. These products may interfere with the coating’s performance or cause premature deterioration.
- Failure to properly maintain the vehicle or complete the required annual service may result in loss of warranty coverage.
- If the coating experiences a failure that is confirmed through inspection to be eligible for warranty coverage, all required materials and labor needed to correct the affected area(s) will be provided at no cost to the customer.
